Created by an Autistic mother-son team (together, we are 8-legged Comix), this comic book is a great affirming introduction to autism for all ages. It includes information on the strengths and challenges of being Autistic, helpful tips for people who support Autistics, and a summary of neurodiversity-affirmative language.

8-legged Comix was established in 2019 after we were both diagnosed with Autism. Our mission at 8-Legged Comix is to educate about autism and promote acceptance of neurodiversity. We chose “8-Legged Comix” as our name since spiders are often misunderstood, just like Autistic people (and because the son had a special interest in spiders at that time!). As he will tell you, once you get to know more about spiders, you find that they are useful and beautiful in their own way, just as Autistics are an important part of human neurodiversity.
